Biljana Balovska
My name is Biljana. I have spent most of my life in Germany, Munich and decided to pursue my
tertiary studies in Australia, where I did live as a young child in Perth. I have completed a Bachelor of
Arts degree, with majors in Government and International Relations and Germanic studies at the
University of Sydney. After finishing my undergraduate degree, I decided to move back to Perth and
do an Honours degree in German Studies at UWA and pursue my passion in teaching the German
language.
I am currently finishing my master’s degree in International Relations at UWA. Academically and from
my own experience, I know how beneficial it is to know as much as possible about different nations,
cultures and migration as well as to speak other languages.
Being bilingual or multilingual can help you see the world in a different way and when speaking
another language, I have the feeling of being “a different person”.
